Voila! Voila!

Bonjour,
We've made it. We had great flights. We got in around 10am yesterday and had about 30 minutes to get settled in before we hit the ground running.

Yesterday was incredible. Right out of the gate we get to see Craig at work. After getting checked in we grabed a bit to eat at a near by pizza shop. We met the owner Ahmed (ak-med). Craig and Ahmed spent about 45 minutes talking about the Koran and Isa (Jesus). As they spoke Craig translated. Ahmed had already made two prilgrammages to Mecca. Ahmed described this like "grasping hot coals" meaning he thinks his salvation is guareenteed and by making two prilgrammages his belief in his faith is unwavering. This was our first glimpse into the awesome opportunities that Craig and his team have to share the truth of Christ-the harvest is overflowing and the workers are faithful!

After our bellies were full and our hearts were overjoyed with the divine encounter with Ahmed, we had a whirlwind of a tour of Paris to get us familiar with the rail system and to get us oriented for the upcoming week's work. It was breathtaking!

Today, 28December, we prayerwalked through the busy Belleville market. There were numerous cultures represented- it was flooded with people! We then prayerwalked to the local mosque and lifted them up to God as they participated in their afternoon prayer.

After praying at the mosque and visiting an Islamic bookstore, we ate lunch at a nearby foyer. A foyer (foe-yaa) is a dorm-type housing provided to immigrants by the government. Typically only men live in the foyers and they are together with their own, or similar, people group. We had wonderful rice that the African women are hired to cook. Praise God! Craig had a few more God-ordained encounters with men. He was able to hand out the Jesus film to Demba. Craig gave his contact information to a few men. Amazingly, one man he talked with, Diallo (Jallo), complemented the Jesus film in its good translation into his home tongue.

Craig mentioned that it's great that the team is here because since there are many of us, we draw attention to ourselves. Automatically, people approach us and want to know why we are here. One man, Mamadou, actually followed Craig from the Islamic library and wanted to hear what he had to say.

Please remember to pray specifically for these Muslims:

Demba and his sister (from the foyer)
Diallo (from the foyer)
Sidibally (from the foyer)
Ahmed (from the pizzeria)
Mamadou (from the library)

Voila!

Team meets Paris

Family and Friends,

We have landed safely and have already experienced the culture, the food, and some of the opportunities presented to us. The weather has been cold, but nice. The food has been different, but good. Today we got to prayer walk one of the markets and saw firsthand the spiritual warfare. We also went to one of the West African Foyer and ate with the people. God had opened tremendous opportunities establish relationships and possibly find the "man of peace," in order to share Christ with his people. Craig was able to give out several tapes of the Jesus film in the native tongue of the Soninke. It was amazing to watch the eagerness of the people to engage in conversations. In addition to our trip to the Foyer, we were able to visit the W.A. mosque. We watched and prayed as many overflowed into the streets to bow down to spiritual darkness. What an eye opener to see this firsthand. Craig has been a wonderful encouragement to the team. He truly is walking and talking Christ wherever we go. We also have been truly blessed to team up with the other missionaries here...Tim and his wife Ashley, Greg and his wife Angela. Praise God for them and the work they are doing here. Tommorrow, we are going back into the Foyer with direct intent to engage the Soninke and distribute the Jesus film. Please pray for us as we will engage in spiritual warfare there also. Some names to remember to pray for (not sure about the spelling of names) Akd bar, Mama doo, Ish ba, Ish sha wa. These were some of the men who we spoke with and shared Christ. Well, more to follow...continue to pray, pray, pray, and pray some more!

Five Prayer Points for Paris Team

1. Pray for the Kendrick Family (IMB) as we will be working along side them while in Paris. Pray that we would be a blessing to them and an encouragement.
2. Pray for God-ordained meetings with the Soninke People Group. As we visit the Soninke in their homes, pray that they would not feel threatened and would receive the Gospel.
3. Pray, as we work with translators, that the Gospel, our testimonies and conversations would translate accurately.
4. Pray that God would rain down His Spirit upon the Soninke People, that they would see their lostness, empty religion and shipwrecked faith. Pray that it would result in them seeing the beauty of Christ and turn to Him as their ONLY Savior!

5. Pray that the Lord would keep the Paris Team safe, healthy, unified and full of His Spirit!

Prayer Service Friday evening

Friday evening, December 14, we had a prayer service for the Nigeria and Paris Teams. It was a great time of encouragement for the teams and, I am sure, for the “Prayer Warriors” sending us in Christ’s name. To know that there are followers of Christ willing to partner with us and pray for our safety, our witness and unity is heart-warming and uplifting!

Thank you to those of you who came out to lift us up in prayer!
